NetApp EF540 is a powerful storage device using exclusively SSDs, in line with the newest trend of favoring „all-SSD” storage systems. NetApp installs 2.5-inch SSDs equipped with SAS interface in a device with a height of 2U. In its maximum configuration the memory may contain 24 disks with a total capacity of up to 19.2 TB. The EF540 flash array works under the company’s SANtricity storage management softwareand, as reported by NetApp, have the capacity in the range of 300 thousand IOPS (I/O operations per second). The units are equipped with eight FC 8 Gb/s ports and are able to operate iSCSI connections using Ethermet 10 Gb /s and InfiniBand 40 Gb /s technologies. The matrix supports RAID technology(levels 0, 1, 3, 5, 6 and 10) and the following operating systems: Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, VMware ESX, Oracle Solaris, HP HP-UX Apple Mac.
